iGorts: Bring Your Global Experience to Armenia’s Public Sector

iGorts is a public sector initiative organised by The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and funded by the Republic of Armenia and the H. Hovnanyan Family Foundation


The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia
announces the launch of the application process for the iGorts 2025 program.

This initiative offers Diaspora Armenian professionals the opportunity to work for one year in over 20 state administration bodies in Armenia, contributing their expertise to the country’s public sector. Diaspora Armenian professionals who meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply:

  • Hold a higher education degree
  • Have at least three years of professional work experience

Applications for the 2025 program will be accepted from February 27 to April 10 in Armenian, English, or Russian. Successful applicants who pass the final round of interviews will begin their government placements in September 2025. Benefits for Selected Participants:

  • Round-trip airfare (to and from Armenia)
  • Monthly subsistence allowance of 336,000 AMD (approx. $1,375 AUD)
  • Health insurance
  • Reimbursement of residence status fees for one year (worth 100,000 AMD or approx. $400 AUD)

Additionally, with the support of the H. Hovnanyan Family Foundation, five specialists will have the opportunity to work in Armenia’s regions, further strengthening local development initiatives. Now in its sixth year, iGorts is Armenia’s first state initiative designed to integrate Diaspora Armenian professionals into the country’s public administration system. Since its launch, over 250 specialists have been employed in Armenia’s state structures, with more than 70% continuing their careers in the country, including in senior positions.

The program has gained international recognition, being featured in the International
Organization for Migration’s Best Practices Database
and presented at the Future of the
European Union Forum as a model program.
